I love shooting live gigs, mostly DIY shows,
I prefer small bands and venues rather then famous names and stages.
Actually I hate big bands or bands who are doing this shit for money or
fame! However I am amateur and I am doing this for free! I have never charged
any band for anything! If you need high resolution picture of your band let
me know and I will email it to you, the only thing I am asking for is to let

Sympatické na tomto císlu je vlastní uvažovaní a ne jen kopírování
zavedených mnohdy pekne klišovitých názoru...

Bild ist konkret und das Wort bleibt abstrakt“, hat der deutsche
Grafikdesigner Wolfgang Beinert einmal gesagt, und vor diesem
Hintergrund ist es nur konsequent, dass der im slowakischen Tyrnau
geborene und in London lebende Roman Laris bei der ersten
Veröffentlichung seiner Konzertfotos in Buchform fast komplett auf
Sprache verzichtet.
Obwohl der Herausgeber eines Straight-Edge-Fanzines um die
politische Dimension der Punk- und Hardcore-Szene weiß, wie das
knappe Vorwort beweist, geht es ihm bei seiner Schwarz/Weiß-
Fotografie vor allem darum, die Energie einzufangen, die entsteht,
wenn Bands wie BANE, CRO-MAGS, RISE AND FALL, THIS IS
HELL, SINKING SHIPS, DARKEST HOUR oder GOOD CLEAN FUN
(um nur die größten Namen zu nennen) in einem kleinen Club auf ihr
Publikum treffen.
Laris ist kein gelernter Fotograf und gibt ganz offen zu, das falsche
Papier für sein Buch verwendet zu haben, weshalb manche Bilder
leider ein wenig zu dunkel geworden sind, aber wer sich daran stört,
kann sich ja Promofotos junger Bands auf Epitaph Records
anschauen.
